Barb snagged a photo with Julie Worden after the session “Moving the CHI with PD / Tranquilidad de Espíritu” at the World Parkinson Congress. This powerful session focused on gentle, intentional movement and cultivating calm for individuals living with Parkinson’s disease.

Programs like this remind us that wellness is more than physical strength - it’s balance, breath, and community.

We are grateful for the opportunity to learn and bring these insights back to Hancock County.

It is with heartfelt remembrance that we honor Dave Braun.

Dave was more than a board member. He was an advocate, a storyteller, and a steady voice of encouragement for others living with Parkinson’s disease. He openly shared his journey, believing that honesty and vulnerability could help someone else feel less alone. And it did.

His passion for making the world better for those with Parkinson’s was evident in every conversation, every meeting, and every story he told. Dave believed in progress, in resilience, and in showing up - not just for himself, but for others walking the same path.

From completing more than 50 marathons, including four Boston Marathons, to traveling the world and serving faithfully on our Board of Directors, Dave lived with determination and purpose. His competitive spirit, compassion, and willingness to speak boldly about Parkinson’s left a lasting mark on this organization and on the people who knew him.

We are grateful for the time he gave, the stories he shared, and the strength he modeled.

Dave reminded us that even in the face of challenge, we are stronger together.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all who were touched by his life.
