The first lap belongs to our survivors...
🎗️🚶🏻🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️🚶🏽‍♂️🚶🏾‍♀️

Maybe it’s a celebration.

For some, it’s recognition of everything they’ve been through.

For many, it marks a new chapter.

And for most, it's taking a moment to look around and realize just how many people are standing beside them.

That’s what makes the Survivor First Lap one of the most powerful moments of Flock Walk!

But here’s the important part:

The rest of us show up to make sure they don’t walk it alone.

We cheer. We clap. We walk. We volunteer. We donate. We remember. We stand beside our friends, neighbors, coworkers and family members facing cancer right here in Hancock County.

Flock Walk is how YOU can show them that their community is behind them.

So, who needs to see this?
Share it with someone you want beside you on September 12th!!

Let’s get this flock started! 🦩

The Flock Walk is almost here, which means it’s officially time to start planning your Funky Flamingo look!

Keep it simple or go ALL OUT. Tutus. Boas. Flamingo hats. Sunglasses. Inflatable birds. A little lavender and turquoise. Whatever your level of fun, we want to see your Flock spirit!

🏆 We’ll crown a Funky Flamingo individual AND team on event day.

Gather your flock, plan your look and join us Saturday, September 12 for the 5th Annual Cancer Patient Services Flock Walk.

Register: bit.ly/2026FlockWalk

P.S. Pink feathers are optional. Laughter is pretty much guaranteed. 😂🦩

Well, well, well… Is it getting a little hot in here? 🥵 Look who’s leading the flock! 👀🦩

Some of the names near the TOP of our Flock Walk fundraising leaderboard belong to CPS clients, survivors and their families. And we absolutely love it.

They’ve experienced firsthand what it means to have support during cancer, and now they’re turning their own stories into support for the next local family who needs us.

And there’s still time to shake up that leaderboard!

🏆 We’ll recognize our Top 3 Fundraising Teams AND Top 3 Individual Fundraisers at Flock Walk.

⏰ Award cutoff:
Tuesday, September 8 at midnight

Already fundraising? Share your WHY. Tell people who you’re walking for, celebrating or remembering. Your story may be exactly what inspires someone to give.

Haven’t started fundraising? Don’t count yourself out! Every $5, $10 or $25 adds up to financial assistance, gas and grocery cards, medical equipment, nutritional support, counseling and other services provided at no cost to local cancer patients.

Thanks for helping get even closer to our goal!

Karen and Carol have been making the rounds this week! 🎙️🦩

If you’ve been listening to 100.5 WKXA or 106.3 The Fox, you may have heard a couple familiar voices talking all things Flock Walk!

And there’s a reason we keep talking about it.

On September 12, we’re not just gathering for a walk. We’re gathering for the cancer patients, survivors, caregivers, families and loved ones right here in Hancock County who remind us why this work matters.

Every registration. Every team. Every flamingo. Every raffle ticket. Every volunteer. Every donation.

It all adds up to neighbors helping neighbors through cancer. 💜🩵

Thank you to 100.5 WKXA and 106.3 The Fox for giving Karen and Carol the opportunity to spread the word this week!

Now we need YOUR help spreading it, too. 🦩

ONE WEEK, one incredible flock! 💜

One week from today, this place will be filled with survivors, caregivers, families, friends, volunteers, teams and neighbors who all have their own reason for showing up.

Some will celebrate.
Some will remember.
Some will cheer.
Some will walk beside someone they love.
And some will realize for the first time just how big their flock really is.

If you’ve been thinking about joining us, this is your sign.

On September 12, let's show local cancer patients and families what it looks like when an entire community shows up.

🎗️Cancer care doesn’t end when you leave the treatment room...

That’s one of the many reasons we’re so grateful to have Blanchard Valley Health System and The A***s Family Cancer Care Center walking alongside Cancer Patient Services and serving as a Presenting Sponsor of the 5th Annual Flock Walk.

At The A***s, patients receive the specialized medical care they need. At CPS, we help with so many of the things a cancer diagnosis impacts outside of medical treatment, from financial assistance and transportation needs to medical equipment, nutrition, counseling, healing arts and more.

As Adele Simon, Clinical Office Manager with BVHS and President of the CPS Board of Directors, puts it:

“Together, these services address both the medical and personal needs of cancer patients, helping ensure they receive compassionate, well-rounded support from diagnosis through treatment and beyond.”

That’s what community care looks like!

Thank you to Blanchard Valley Health System, The A***s Family Cancer Care Center, and Adele for continuing to walk alongside our patients, our families and our mission.

And on September 12, we’ll get to walk together. 🫂 🦩
