What a day for Scouting!

The 2026 Sporting Clays for Scouting event at Elkhorn Lake Hunt Club was a tremendous success, raising more than $50,000 to support local Scouting programs across the Black Swamp Area Council. All funds raised remain local and help provide life-changing experiences, leadership development, outdoor adventures, and character-building opportunities for youth throughout our communities.

A heartfelt thank you to our event sponsors, participants, volunteers, committee members, and supporters who made this day possible. Your generosity ensures that more young people can experience the values and opportunities that Scouting provides.

Congratulations to all of our shooters, prize winners, and award recipients, and special thanks to Elkhorn Lake Hunt Club for hosting another outstanding event.

We are saddened to share the passing of Scott Gray, a current Black Swamp Area Council Executive Board member and past Council Commissioner.

Scott was a dedicated Scouter whose leadership and service made a difference in the lives of many. We are grateful for all he gave to Scouting and our council.

Scott’s Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 3, at 4:00 p.m. at New Life Assembly of God, 3120 Norcrest St., Findlay, Ohio.

Please join us in keeping Scott’s family and friends in your thoughts.

Adventure On, Scott. You will be missed.

At Chamberlin Hill Intermediate School, Dr. Stan Doty, Scout Executive Marc Kogan and Pack 334 Cubmaster Brittany Lasley visited all the students at lunch to invite them to join Cub Scouts Pack 334.
