🏒 WANT TO KNOW WHAT YOU’RE ACTUALLY COMMITTING TO?

Thinking about coaching or signing your kid up for Season One? Here’s what it looks like:

Season Runs Apr 5th -May 23rd

COACHES — Practices twice a week, but you won’t be doing it alone. You’ll have a team manager and an app already set up with parent communication, schedules and team information. No chasing parents. No building schedules. No planning the end-of-season party. We’ve got the behind-the-scenes stuff covered so you can do the fun part, coach.

PARENTS — We’re playing on tennis courts . It's non-contact street hockey. Your player needs a stick, athletic shoes, their included NHL STREET jersey, and a coachable attitude. 🏒 That's all...unless you're the lucky winner of a goalie then we will have the NHL STREET goalie gear for them.

GAMES: Saturday mornings

That’s it. Simple, organized, beginner-friendly hockey right here in the Magic Valley.

Southern Idaho Ice's first season of NHL STREET is shaping up and we need volunteers who are not afraid to jump in and help us learn as we grow and make this first season memorable, safe, and fun for the kids.

If you’re energetic, dependable, great with kids, willing to jump in, and can pass a background check we want to hear from you.

We’ve been a little quiet… but we definitely haven’t been sitting still. 👀🏒

🏒 SOUTHERN IDAHO ICE IS OFFICIALLY LAUNCHING AN NHL STREET LEAGUE! 🏒

Our league has been approved, which means we’re bringing an official NHL STREET youth hockey program right here to the Magic Valley.

One of our biggest goals with Southern Idaho Ice has always been to give local kids the opportunity to experience hockey — and we don’t have to wait for an ice rink to start.

NHL STREET gives kids the chance to learn the game, build skills, compete, and fall in love with hockey right here in our community.

And this is just the beginning.

Registration details, age divisions, dates, and everything you need to know are coming VERY soon.

Parents of athletes who attended play it forward. I have two buckets of baseball mitts that were left behind and I received the shirts for athletes who were given red ones or who missed camp! I'll be reaching out individually next week and am more than happy to drop items off to parents

The best part of camp? Trying something new.🥅🏒

For most of these kids, this was their very first time picking up a hockey stick.

There were missed shots, big smiles and lots of encouragement!

That’s what Play It Forward is all about, giving every child the opportunity to step outside their comfort zone, build confidence, and maybe even discover a sport they’ll love for years to come.

Today, We are celebrating the volunteers who made Play It Forward possible.

I was asked a lot why our shirts said "First Shift"

In hockey the First Shift is the first group to step onto the ice during a game BUT to us it meant being willing to "Go First"

Go first in believing in an idea
Go first in supporting a new program in our community
Go first in giving your time, energy, resources or talents
Go first in serving without expecting anything in return

Over Twenty volunteers made the decision to go first and to coach, encourage, organize, carry equipment, hand out snacks, and make sure over 60 kids felt welcomed and supported.

They showed our athletes what leadership really looks like.

Thank you to every volunteer who took the First Shift.

You helped build something meaningful, and you set an example that I hope others will continue to follow.

🏒 2 DAYS UNTIL PLAY IT FORWARD!

We can hardly believe it...

69 young athletes are registered, and we've already surpassed our original goal of 50 kids! ❤️

What started as an idea to introduce children to new sports has become something so much bigger. This camp is helping build momentum for Southern Idaho Ice.

To every family who registered, every sponsor who gave, every volunteer who stepped up, and every person who shared a pos, thank you. You are part of something special.

Now all that's left to do is count down the days and start stretching and hydrating.
