We have had people asking if we sell the book "THE NIGHT PESHTIGO DIED". Unfortunately, we do not. We asked Michelle Chizek who was signing the book at our book signing event here is what she said "My book can be purchased on-line through Amazon or Barnes & Noble. I have a website. If someone clicks on the photo of the book cover it will direct them to Barnes & Noble. However, the book can be purchased through both sellers listed above."

The Night Peshtigo Died - in this novel - the author Jim Chizek depicts the struggles of the people of Peshtigo, based on actual happenings before, during, and after the disastrous Peshtigo Fire of October 8, 1871.

REMINDER Strawberry Shortcake: August 8 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The book presentation by Michelle Chizek of “The Night Peshtigo Died” authored by her late father Jim Chizek will be held at 1:00 p.m.

We have 3 parades this summer! First was the 4th of July parade last weekend in Phillips. This weekend we will be at the Fifield parade. Last will be the Flambeau Rama parade in Park Falls. We would like to send a huge THANK YOU to Wheel Way Auto Super Center for letting us use one of their trucks to pull our float!!

Look back with us at where we were 250 years ago. What did Price County look like? Then we look at what Price County looked like 150 years ago?
You can get the answers by stopping in and looking at our "150 at 250" display. Pay special attention to those communities celebrating their 150th the same year America is celebrating its 250th. Some photos used in the display were from the book "A Glimpse at the Early History of the State of Wisconsin Relating to Price County
