This is a reminder that the VFW Quarterly District Meeting for the Post and the Auxiliary will be held November 1st. We are hosting this meeting. It starts at 1:00, and all members are encouraged to attend. There will be a luncheon the post has planned, and we need volunteers from the auxiliary to make deserts and possibly help serving the food. If you can't make the meeting, but would like to donate a desert, just bring it by the club over the weekend or on Sunday morning. Thank you!!

The haunted house is coming along nicely. Thank you to all of those who have donated, loaned props, and volunteered to make this year different and special!!!!! I have a new request. If anyone has items that can be turned into dummies (ex. Stuffing, masks, old winter clothes you don’t want, Old Halloween costumes, etc.) if you could please drop them off at the Vfw to the Bartender, it would be greatly appreciated!

🇺🇸❤️ WHAT AN INCREDIBLE WEEKEND! ❤️🇺🇸
I honestly don’t know where to begin because I am SO incredibly proud of our VFW Auxiliary ladies! 🥹❤️🇺🇸
Bring Them Home Weekend was a HUGE success! 🙌🏼🎉 And it was only possible because so many amazing people were willing to give their time, energy, talents, donations, and hard work to make it happen.
To every single person who volunteered, cooked, baked, sold tickets, worked the poppy drive, helped set up and clean up, donated items, worked behind the bar, or simply showed up to support us — THANK YOU! ❤️❤️❤️
Look what YOU all accomplished! 👇🏼
🌶️ Chili Dinner: $190
🧵 American Quilt Raffle: $167
🧁 Bake Sale: $238
🍺 Bar Donations: $26
💰 TOTAL RAISED: $621!
And because our Post is matching that $621, that means…
🇺🇸🇺🇸 $1,242 WILL BE GOING TO SUPPORT THE POW/MIA PROGRAM! 🇺🇸🇺🇸
But that's not all! 👇🏼
🌺 OUR POPPY DRIVE BROUGHT IN AN AMAZING $819! 🌺
That is an incredible accomplishment, ladies! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I am beyond proud of the way everyone came together this weekend. It takes a LOT of planning, preparation, time, and work behind the scenes to pull something like this off — and you ladies gave it your all. ❤️
And I have to say… Joy may have started something! 😉🌺
I absolutely LOVE the idea of making Poppy Day an annual event and working toward having the cities of Festus and Crystal City recognize it every year, I also love the idea of having it coincide with the National POW/MIA Day.. 🇺🇸🌺
And why stop there?!?
I think "Bring Them Home Weekend" should become an ANNUAL tradition for our Auxiliary and Post! 🇺🇸❤️
A weekend dedicated to remembering our POWs and MIAs, honoring those who never came home, educating our community, supporting the POW/MIA program, and bringing our community together for a very important cause.
This weekend proved what we can accomplish when we all work together. 💪🏼❤️🇺🇸
Ladies, you should be incredibly proud of yourselves. I know I AM! 🥰
Thank you for your time.
Thank you for your hard work.
Thank you for your donations.
Thank you for your dedication.
Thank you for showing up.
And most importantly… thank you for caring. ❤️🇺🇸
🌺🇺🇸 NEVER FORGOTTEN. NEVER FORGOTTEN. NEVER FORGOTTEN. 🇺🇸🌺
Until every one of them is home. ❤️
🇺🇸🌺❤️
