Jefferson County Health and Education Committee The Jefferson County Health and Education Committee is a partnership of local non-profits and area health and social service organizations.

Annually the Jefferson County Education Committee hosts the Jefferson County Back-to-School Fair. It is designed to provide free school supplies to registered low income verified children that attend Jefferson County School Districts. Each registered child receives a backpack, age and school approved school supplies, hearing and vision screening tests, a haircut, healthy snacks, books, health and

wellness screenings, as well as information regarding school lunch programs, insurance, and much more. All of these services are provided at no cost to the children and families. In 2013 the fair served 600 children and in 2014 we expect the demand to be even higher. For registration information please contact DRA at 636-931-7696 or Jefferson Franklin Community Action at 636-789-2686. This year's fair will be held on August 1 at the Jefferson College Field House in Hillsboro, Missouri. We are looking for donors and have sponsorship opportunities available. TODAY begins our 2021 School Superhero Contest. Is there an educator at your school who has achieved Superhero status amidst COVID and virtual learning?!? Any teacher, administrator or support staff who works at a Jefferson County School district is eligible. The winner will receive $250 for themselves and $500 for their school. Nominations end on 3/26. Then we will have online voting to determine the winner. Nominate a deserving School Superhero at your school today!
