A big thank you to Karin Kostich, Founder and Executive Director of James II Project, for the excellent work in the community providing hot, nutritious meals to individuals in need and access to resources. James II, founded in 2023, has over 200 volunteers and has served over 12,000 meals. They serve five meals a week with two meals served at the Salvation Army in Arnold, one meal at First United Methodist Church in Festus, and one meal in High Ridge. Excellent program today with Amy Wilson and Tricia Nelson presenting on the Festus Farmer’s Market. From the initial start in October 2025, the number of attendees has grown from 400 to 900+. There are 30-40 vendors each week, and Farmer’s Market is every Saturday from 8 AM to Noon and a mid-week marker has been added on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month from 3:30-6:30 PM. Location is behind Festus Main Street! Also, our guest today at Rotary was Polly, daughter of Rotary Member, Jordan. She held the flag for our Pledge of Allegiance. Such a great time for all!

We had an awesome speaker at Rotary on Tuesday, July 8th. Jordon, from MoDot, gave us a complete update on the transportation projects in our region including the I-55 corridor, Hwy 67 and Route CC reconstruction, and the newest project, U.S. 61/67 with the addition of a 5th lane as a dedicated turn lane. We got to see the drone video of the different construction projects, which was amazing. A big thank you each to Jordon for a great information update, and to Texas Roadhouse for a great lunch! You never disappoint.
