MyFestus.com ✨Shining the light on what to explore & experience in the Festus, MO area through www.MyFESTUS.com✨ 🙋🏼‍♀️Hello! I am Sara, the creator of MyFestus.com.
(1)

I live in Festus, Missouri, the 11th city I have lived in. I grew up and lived in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Since I was an itty-bitty little girl, I have worked in a variety of small businesses, in all different industries. I earned my B.A. in Professional Communication from Alverno College in Milwaukee, WI. I moved to Festus in 2018, starting a new life chapter with my partner and Jefferson County

-native, Jason. With the busyness of getting settled into a new state while working full time with two young children and navigating a global pandemic, I am just now getting out to explore this energetic community, full of beautiful nature, brave entrepreneurs and compassionate people. As a “transplant,” I am extending my roots as I grow and thrive, while helping native residents, newcomers and visitors do the same. I am honored to publicly communicate local events, shine the light on people and places, share education and provide encouragement. The MyFESTUS Mission is to:
✨ SHARE all there is to love about the Festus, Missouri area.

✨ CONNECT with people to provide a trusted resource guide.

✨ SUPPORT local individuals, establishments and nonprofits (a.k.a. MyFESTUS Friends) to increase their visibility and enrich our community. I invite you to follow me as on this fun journey. I share something cool every day on ✨www.MyFestus.com ✨+ on other social media platforms. Please send me a message if you have questions, suggestions and/or would like to connect. Thank you for reading and sharing.💜

Certainty and Curiosity – A Calming Combo:

Certainty and curiosity are quite a powerful and paradoxical pair of emotions.

The older I get, the more I realize how potent the embodiment of each of these energies is to create feelings of peace and excitement. When we can be certain and confident of an outcome, WHILE holding open space to be curious about the unexpected surprises that will lead us to our outcome, that combination can be truly magical.

As I am intentional to practice combining these two energies in my life, I am also intentional to work with my children to encourage ways they can incorporate certainty and curiosity into their daily lives. This last weekend, we all witnessed how incredibly powerful this pairing was.

My daughter, Audrey (13), was honored to land the lead role of Rosie in her middle school Bye Bye Birdie musical theater production. While she was born a natural singer, dancer, and performer, she (and I) are learning to feel calm amidst unexpected circumstances. When many of her fellow cast mates sadly became sick at the last moment, for the last couple of shows, Audrey, and the entire theater team rallied together to ensure the show would go on!

On Friday night, when my daughter called me in tears, 40 minutes before show time, explaining that her lead costar was out, we quickly, yet firmly established that she COULD be absolutely, positively CERTAIN that the show would be amazing. She vowed to BE confident in what SHE could control, AND she would allow herself to be CURIOUS with ALL that she could not control.
This seemed to calm her (and me!).

I could not have been more proud of how she, and everyone, made the performances magical and memorable.

There are still two more memorable showings of Bye Bye Birdie coming up this week for you to experience:

The next one will be on Audrey‘s 14th birthday:
- Friday, February 7 at 7:00 PM

The final show will be on:
- Saturday, February 8 at 2:00 PM

Tickets are only $5 and can be purchased at the door at the beautiful Performing Arts Center in Festus, MO.

You can be CERTAIN that you will be impressed by all you will witness, while being CURIOUSLY excited for some unexpected, magical moments.

Where might you be able to combine certainty with curiosity to calm an area in your life?

As always, I am so curious about your take on these kinds of concepts.
I would love for you to connect with a comment if you feel called.

P.S. Thank you to Ms. Michelle Ganey and ALL the children and adults who help to cultivate such a magical middle school theater department.

🎶💃🏼🎭Triple Threat, Triple Proud:

Last night was a night to feel triple proud. I was as a proud Mama, a proud Spotlight Community Theatre - JeffCo member, and a proud Festus community member.

Last night was the night Spotlight Community Theatre hosted “A Night In The Spotlight,” its annual awards banquet at The Marquee on Main. Family members gathered…both small family units, and the family unit that embodies Spotlight Community Theatre.

Folks of all ages gathered to honor and celebrate the organization and the many shining stars who comprise the culture and essence of a compassionate, connected, and thriving community theater.

As we learned from the founder and Executive Director, Courtney Wisely, this triple combination is a rarity in the community theater world.

My family’s world has been positively impacted by being part of the special Spotlight Community Theatre family.

I am so proud to be a member, and so proud of my daughter, Audrey, for earning an excellent Executive Director award, the “Triple Threat” award for shining on stage, and behind the stage, as a sweet, kind, engaging, and talented singer, dancer, and performer.

Our hearts and souls are full of love, gratitude, and pride. These may be best triple-combination of feelings ever. 🎶💃🏼🎭

💪🏻👔💻The Depth of The Dapper Duo:

Perhaps one may wonder why two fellas decked out in three-piece tailored suits, with an office in Saint Peters, Missouri, would want the Festus community to know about them?

Perhaps there is greater depth to this Dapper Duo than what meets the eye. With deep roots, connections, and clients in the Festus area, they are on a mission to make even more connections as they offer their marketing and insurance solutions throughout Jefferson County.

Marketing Consultant, Austin Sandoz, and Insurance Engineer, Christopher Stone, are proud to help people dive deeper to ensure their branding, marketing, and insurance are aligned to the depth one needs for maximum results, efficiency, and coverage.

While they strategically share an office space, and often share clients who need both of their services, the gentlemen have their own business entities: Sandoz Media and E3 Insurance Advisory Group

These two also share the same work ethic and values for how they interact with others. “How you do anything is how you do everything” is a motto they believe in. They also believe in challenging the preconceived notions one may have when it comes to marketing and insurance. They each are curious with potential clients, diving in to learn about one’s goals and visions. From there, they love to educate and present all the options and invite others to be curious and introspective about their own values and beliefs to make the best decision for them. No judgment, no pressure, no forced energy.

Perhaps this overflow of energetic abundance comes from the way Austin and Christopher mentally, physically, and spiritually fuel themselves. While they each are strong individuals in their own right, they both have strong identities of men who are continually evolving, learning, growing, and elevating, regardless of the preconceived notions/limitations/barriers others can place on us.

Austin and Christopher are living proof that nothing can hold one back. Regardless of where someone grew up, how much education they have, what industry they are currently in, or want to be in, they prove with intention, determination, and resiliency, you can be who you want to be.

If you are someone who resonates with depth and resiliency, or you are someone who believes that “how you do anything is how you do everything,” you may want to consider connecting with The Dapper Duo: Austin and Christopher. Perhaps you will be pleasantly surprised with the depth you will find.

💪🏻Thank you for SHARING this to CONNECT more people as we all SUPPORT a community who appreciates depth.💪🏻
