Signs like these have served us for more than 30 years. Due to sun, wind, rain and various critters, most need to be replaced every year or two. Laminated paper is useful but not very durable. This year, we are hoping to start the process to transition to permanent, long term signs wherever possible. Better signage and more of it will help everyone. The smallest signs start at about $20 each, the largest ones like the sign at the entrance are estimated at $500-750 depending on the materials chosen and specific size.

Did you know that The Haunted Trail is 100% volunteer-operated?

Every person you see — from the actors lurking in the woods to those handling ticket sales, taking tickets, and tending the fires — is donating their time. No one is paid to be here.

They do it because they love Halloween and because they want to support the Agassiz Environmental Learning Center, which provides nature education, conservation programs, and community events all year long right here in Fertile, MN. 🌿

Because this event runs purely on volunteers, it can be a challenge keeping tabs on every corner of the woods and every scare. We do our best to make sure everything runs safely and smoothly — but sometimes a rogue ghoul or spirited volunteer might get a little carried away. 👻

Please remember: this haunt isn’t powered by profit, it’s powered by passion. Every scream, laugh, and ticket sold goes directly toward helping the Agassiz Environmental Learning Center continue its mission for future generations.
