As a result, there will be no Shabbat services at FUMC this weekend. (The Shabbaton services will not be livestreamed – sorry!)

For a local option, check out our friends at the Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue, who will meet for Shabbat morning services, Tot Shabbat & Kids Kehillah. 🙌 Shabbat shalom!

Tisha b'Av, the commemoration of the collective grief and resilience of the Jewish people, begins tonight at sundown.

Tisha b’Av is the saddest day on the Jewish calendar. From our personal heartaches to our collective anguish for all we have lost and are losing, we will lament in an authentic and shared practice of naming our sorrows - in writing and in spoken word. But Tisha b’Av is also the day, we’re told, when Moshiach / the messianic era is born. What forms of Moshiachkeit, liberation, and redemption are being born right now and how might our grief serve as a catalyst for their and our redemption? We hope to see you on this auspicious day, as we lean into embodied practice and communal ceremony.

Good news! Our A/C has been replaced, so come on out for a cool and comfortable Shabbat Morning tomorrow at 10 AM! 🙌

Services will be followed by a light kiddush. No lettuce will be served... 👀

Adults are required to mask for the 3rd and 4th Shabbat of the month - i.e. this week and next - unless wearing a mask conflicts with your other access needs / poses a significant barrier to participation. 😷
