Happy Sunday!
Time to get the word out about another senior dog, waiting at the Humane Society of Skagit Valley. Chester has been at the shelter over 2 months now! He needs your shares, Friends. 🙏🐾

Chester Cheese is often cheesing with a big grin. He’s an 86-pound-and-counting, gangly, 8-year-old shepherd mix that arrived at the shelter very malnourished. Chester has been feeling a lot better but still has weight to gain. Other than cheesing for the camera, he’s been an absolute superstar at making little dogs feel big, aka letting them boss him around. He could do well in a home with other dogs, especially smaller ones. Chester has lived with a cat.

Understandably, he has some big feelings about sharing food after not having had enough, so it will be important to feed him separately from other animals. He really enjoys when you hide it, and he has to use his brain and nose to find it. For this reason, the shelter is recommending a home without small children for Chester.

This gentle fellow does appear to have some aging hips, and so his exercise needs are pretty low. It would be great if his adopter could provide relief for his pain. His brain is still working at full capacity, though, so give him some puzzles and math equations!

The folks at the shelter say this guy’s perfect fit is out there who will appreciate his big, goofy self and understand how his past has shaped him and make him feel secure and safe.

Chester is posted for the Humane Society of Skagit Valley, located at 18841 Kelleher Rd in Burlington, WA. The shelter is open M-F from 11-5, Sat-Sun from 11-4. Here is where you can apply to adopt Chester: https://skagithumane.org/shelter_animals?species=dog&id=2111

This is not an Old Dog Haven dog. Old Dog Haven has not assessed this dog for medical issues and will not be responsible for medical care after adoption. We urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.

She is still waiting! Momma Maia sounds like a wonderful, loving girl who is so ready for a real home. She is waiting for her adopter at Adopt-A-Pet of Shelton Washington . We are hoping today's round of shares finally finds her adopter 🤞🙏🐾

Introducing Momma Maia, a sweet, 9-year-old PitBull/American Staffordshire Terrier mix who is as gentle as she is strong. At 55 pounds, this lovely lady is a true shelter volunteer favorite and an absolute love!

Maia is gentle and loving. She is a true cuddle queen who thrives on affection and companionship. She’s a bit timid with new people, but with calm movements and kind words, she’ll quickly warm up and be your best friend.

She’s quick to learn and is already house-trained with a doggy door. We recently learned she does amazing with free rein in a household, patiently and quietly waiting for her person to return. Maia doesn’t need much to be happy: a yard to play in, a couch to snuggle on, and a person to be her bestie.

People are Maia’s passion, and she has a gift for sensing when someone needs a little extra love. She’s a true companion who will always be there to lend a comforting paw.

Maia has not lived successfully with other dogs and is not fond of cats. She would love to be the Queen of her castle, and a secure, fenced yard is a must to keep her safe (she’s known to escape from unsecured yards). She is kid-friendly (age 13+) . Maia is great with children 13+ who are kind and dog-savvy.

Maia is the perfect companion for someone who can give her the love and attention she craves. With her gentle nature, strong bond with people, and zest for life, she’s ready to make someone’s home complete.

Maia is posted for Adopt-A-Pet in Shelton, WA. For more information on Maia and how to adopt her, please go to the shelter website here:

It's Friday! Lily has a big smile to share with you today. She is hoping you will pass her share along to all of your Facebook friends today. 🐾🙏

Lily is a beautiful girl who will make you fall in love with just one look. She is a 9-year-old, 35-pound, Australian Kelpie mix. Lily is dreaming of a family that will include her in their adventures. Lily loves being with her people no matter what they are doing. She would be an awesome running, hiking, or camping buddy. Just say the word and she is ready to go! Lily is enjoying the summer weather and would benefit from a securely fenced backyard where she can observe the world around her in between naps in the sunshine.

Lily would like to be the only pet in the house. Lily is a sensitive girl and would be fine with children who understand the importance of gentle, respectful treatment of animals.

Lily recently received a Senior Wellness Exam with bloodwork. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccines.

Lily is posted for Save -A-Mutt.She is being fostered in Snohomish County, WA. If you'd like to learn more about Lily, please email: [email protected] or check out their Petfinder link:
