Dexter’s Story ⚠️ (Canine, Pitty),

One bottle. One emergency.
Dexter ingested a dangerous amount of ibuprofen and arrived with serious neurologic and gastrointestinal effects, not to mention serious concern for kidney failure.

With support from The Zoe Fund, he received aggressive, life-saving treatment, including:

Decontamination of the system
IV Fluids to protect kidneys.
Medication for digestive tract, as needed.

Over time, after close monitoring, his body stabilized and Dexter was given a second chance!

Toxicity cases move fast. Access to care has to move faster.

Shadow’s Forever Friend – Paws For a Beer

Ever since opened on October 21, 2016 (Gustav pictured inside the bar on their first day!) we have been friends with them. Almost 10 years later, that is still very true!!

Whether you want to try one of the rotating taps, or one of the 60+ cans of all varying types of beer, cider, seltzer, and the rest, you know you’re going to have a good time at Paws whether you bring your own mutt or you’re just there to watch all the others! Thank you Paws for a Beer, and for being so wonderful!

Sparky’s Story 💛 (Canine, Siberian Husky)

A single moment changed everything.

After ingesting xylitol, Sparky developed rapid, catastrophic liver failure. With help from The Zoe Fund, his family was able to pursue advanced care and stay by his side through every step.
Sadly, the results were devastating as Sparky had to be sent to the Rainbow Bridge far too early. However they were given something priceless. Time to fight for him. Time to understand. Time to say goodbye with love.

Not every outcome can be changed. But every experience can be filled with compassion. ♥️

Our FREE Pet Wellness Clinics for 2026 start in May. Last year, these clinics provided care for over 750 dogs & cats!

We're so excited to get these clinics started and continue our partnership with Animal Emergency Care, Alternative Humane Society, The North Fork Brewery, Whatcom Humane Society, and City of Bellingham, Washington!

The first ones will be held with Lummi Nation, followed by Maple Falls this summer, and Bellingham in the fall.

Emergency Room Success – Torch’s Story 🐾 (Canine, Belgian Malinois/Australian Shepherd mix)

It started with a ball and a backyard.

Torch’s accident left him with multiple traumatic injuries that needed urgent evaluation and care. With support from The Zoe Fund, his team was able to treat his wounds, manage pain, and guide a safe recovery plan. Healing is not always dramatic. Sometimes it is steady, supported, and quiet. And that kind of care matters just as much!
