The American Legion Auxiliary will host its monthly dinner on Saturday, September 12 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. For a $15.00 donation, you will enjoy an authentic Cuban dinner of Lechon Asado (Cuban roast pork), rice, black beans, fried plantains (similar to bananas) and flan, a traditional Latin American caramel topped custard-style dessert. The dinner is open to the public and to-go meals are available. Tyler Bl00mfeld will be providing music from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. American Legion Post 54 is located at 626 S. 3rd Street, Fernandina Beach.

So sorry for the tardiness of this post! Our "Dinner for a Donation" tonight will be made by two new chefs, Eddy and Kristie. Recently, two of our Auxiliary’s Junior members were presented with Certificates of Appreciation for their volunteerism with our Poppy Program. The Poppy Program raises community awareness and respect for our veterans by educating members and the public about the symbol of the poppy, taken from a line in the poem “In Flanders Fields.” The Poppy Isn't a Season. It's a Promise. Remember. Honor. Inspire. Serve.
