NSFA started out small in its early stages, holding club tournaments and social events. The club continues to grow and actively supports several fish

ing tournaments and the placement of off shore artificial reefs. Reef "BA" located approximately 16.5 miles, 97 degrees east of the St. Mary's entrance buoy was created in 1995 and in 2006 the club partnered with the Fernandina Beach High School and the United States Coast Guard to create Captain Daddy (CD) Reef. CD Reef is located approximately 10 miles southeast of the St. NSFA also presents an annual Southern Kingfish Association sanctioned tournament as part of the Fernandina Beach Fishing Rodeo. There are also other public tournaments and outings that occur during the year. The club also provides its members and the general public with education on fishing techniques with seminars and outings. Becoming a member of NSFA provides a great way to network with others interested in fishing.

Our tournament director Dave was apparently really inspired by the excellent Flounder that got weighed in during our Inshore Rodeo on May 30th and decided to see if the big ones were truly in. Well a little bit of pier fishing later and he managed to snag this absolute beast 4.5lb Doormat right off the pier!

Phew good thing he remebered that drop net to putt that sucker up 👀
