Team Update -

Ocean rowing is very different from other projects and other sports.

Setting out for a Transoceanic involves a lot of hours of back-room planning and back-bending work.

It’s not glamorous work but when we think of our ‘Mission,’ and Who’ we are rowing for, as well as our ‘Why’ - putting in the time becomes a very worthwhile and grounding experience.

On June 25, 2026, please join us at as we row unsupported from to UK 🇬🇧 all for driving resources and awareness to

Expedition Update 🚨 (You may have noticed something missing… 👀)

You may have spotted the lack of boat in our recent posts!!

Yes… the very important piece of equipment required for Leg 2 🫣

The good news — Penny B has arrived stateside! 🇺🇸⚓
The not-so-simple news — the logistics definitely don’t end there.

Our original plan was to tow a trailer down to the port, collect Penny B, and launch somewhere along the Florida coast, giving us a solid week-long expedition rowing up into Amelia Island.

Unfortunately, when the time came, we discovered the trailer was not roadworthy enough to complete the six-hour drive to the port.

Plan B was to have Penny B delivered to Amelia Island and then find a suitable trailer locally. Simple? Not quite.

She’s inside a container — which means we need:
• A forklift to get her out of the container
• A hoist to lift her off the cradle
• And then a trailer to launch

We checked Paul Lore and Ruth’s garage… no forklift hiding in there unfortunately 😆

After a lot of phone calls and head scratching, we’ve now secured the right facilities. However, with the ports closed over the weekend, it’s looking more like Monday or Tuesday before we’re reunited.

The challenge? Dawn flies home on Thursday — which means there is now no realistic opportunity to complete Leg 2.

We’re disappointed. We’ve explored multiple options to try and make something happen. But expedition life is about adapting, problem-solving, and knowing when a plan simply isn’t viable.

So for now, we regroup.

We focus on getting Penny B safely back with us, and then we turn our attention fully to Leg 3: St John’s, Canada 🇨🇦 to Burnham-on-Crouch, Essex 🇬🇧.

Every expedition has setbacks — this is just one of ours. The adventure continues.
