Today at Nkoranman Senior High School, mental health stopped being a topic and became people.
Over 2,000 students gathered to learn about how drug abuse quietly steals joy, focus, and hope. But beyond the numbers were faces—some brave, some hurting, some silently asking for help. We listened. We held space. We offered counseling to students carrying burdens heavier than their school bags.
We also turned to the teachers and non-teaching staff—the ones who show up every day for others. We checked their blood pressure and sugar levels, and we asked a simple but powerful question: “How are you really doing?”
Over 60 staff members stepped forward. Some left relieved. Some left seen.
Today reminded us that healing begins when someone notices, when someone listens, when someone cares enough to act.
This was more than a campaign.
It was love in practice, hope in motion, and a promise that no one has to struggle alone 💚

Looking for Leaders is proud to have partnered with 3S Foundation and other dedicated organizations to mark in Dimabi, Tolon District.

Through free screening, vaccination, and sensitization, the event empowered over 120 individuals with life-saving health information and access to the vaccine — with 87 receiving their first dose and 50 vaccinated completely free of charge.

We celebrate this powerful step towards a healthier future and commend the unwavering commitment of all stakeholders, especially the youth, health workers, and community leaders.

National NGO Forum 2025 Organized by OAfrica.

Our General Secretary and some executives represented Looking for Leaders at the National NGO Forum 2025 at Accra(University of Ghana, Legon Amegashie Auditorium)held under the theme “Poisonous Playground: Ending Child Labour in Galamsey.”
The forum brought together key stakeholders and advocates committed to protecting children from the harsh realities of illegal mining.
Our presence emphasized the urgent need for youth leadership and civic engagement in championing child rights and sustainable development.

We are proud to announce that Looking for Leaders was represented at the Ghana Civil Society Forum 2025, held under the powerful theme:
“Reimagining Development Financing and Civic Action – Challenges, Opportunities, and the Way Forward.”

Our presence at the forum reflects our deep commitment to promoting youth leadership, inclusive civic engagement, and sustainable development across Ghana.

💬 The forum brought together diverse stakeholders—civil society leaders, development partners, government actors, financial institutions, and youth advocates—to explore:

✔️ New models for financing national development
✔️ The sustainability of civic organizations in a shifting funding landscape
✔️ Pathways for stronger citizen engagement and accountability

Representing us was our Country Director Francis Tor Kwame, who joined critical conversations that emphasized the importance of youth-driven solutions in tackling today’s development challenges.

Themed: “Abolishing Substance Abuse Among the Youth: The Role of the 21st Century Student,”
this timely event will tackle the alarming rise in drug abuse, especially among young people in our schools.
