Just to keep our followers informed, especially our loyal customers that have rented our hall in the past.

In a recent storm our building suffered damage. A large tree toppled into the back of the building causing major damage, but not crippling our ability to host events.

We are in process of making temporary fixes to protect from further water damage and structural damage.

We are disappointed, saddened but still focused on our mission to help the Ferguson Community and surrounding areas. Hopefully we will recover quickly, but as everyone knows dealing with this sort of crisis takes time.

Keep safe everyone especially to all those effected by the most recent storm damage.

Ferguson Lions Club supported the City of Ferguson and the Red Cross in reaching out to Ferguson Residents to check smoke alarms and install new ones where needed.

The Lions Club provided and prepared food for all of the volunteers that worked the streets.

It was great to see such support from community members.

This past Saturday morning we (the Ferguson Lions) hosted a fantastic chess event for the youth of the area. 20 grade school students ranging in age attended. The chess event featured plenty of games, help from the Saint Louis Chess Club, hotdogs, snacks and ice cream.

A heartfelt thanks to the parents that brought their students to play, A huge shout out to the Saint Louis Chess Club for teaching and helping the students throughout the event.

We are looking forward to having more of these open chess game dates in the future.

And remember - we can always use more new, energetic members in the Ferguson Lions Club.

This past week, it was our pleasure to help our the local middle School Ferguson Middle School of the Ferguson-Florissant School District with a chess game event.

We helped several students play chess games on the after school activity of the week. Its always great to experience the "fun". Hopefully we will develop a Chess Team in the future!

And a reminder - we will be hosting a Free Chess Event on March 28th.

The Ferguson Lions are looking forward to helping Ferguson Middle School and the After School Chess Club Workshop. If you student goes to FMS, encourage them to attend this event on Feb 10th and 12th.

BUT - WATCH THIS SPACE for more details: The Ferguson Lions will be hosting a Chess Game Day for Students Grade 3-8th. The games will be fun, casual and a way to learn more about chess. The date is yet to be determined but it will be on a Saturday morning and will include games, soft drinks, hot dogs, ice cream and maybe some prizes.

Its always great to visit and understand how other Lions Clubs are helping the community. Recently we visited with Overland, Webster Groves during the Governor Brumfield's visit.

The best part of the meeting was seeing New Members inducted and Longtime members being recognized for their service. We have several members with 10 years, 25 and 35 years.

Thanks to Overland for hosting and for the Governor for giving a very insightful presentation.

Fantastic meeting recently, the Ferguson Lions welcome Chuck to the organization. As a resident of the area he will be bringing enthusiasm and a soft spot for the local Boy Scouts.

Another successful Ferguson Spooktacular Event. We are always impressed at how well the event is attended and the time and attention put into the event by the Ferguson Parks and Recreations.
