This page is dedicated to connecting Lake Region Arts Council area artists with statewide resources. Paul based organizations in this endeavor. They are the Sprinboard for the Arts, the Minnesota State Arts Board, the Jerome Foundation, MN Artists, MN Music Coalition, and the Loft Literary Center. Springboard for the Arts is an economic and community development organization for artists and by art

ists. Their work is about building stronger communities, neighborhoods, and economies, and they believe that artists are an important leverage point in that work. The Minnesota State Arts Board is a state agency that stimulates and encourages the creation, performance, and appreciation of the arts in the state. http://www.arts.state.mn.us/

The Jerome Foundation was founded by Jerome Hill (1905-1972), a noted filmmaker, composer and painter, and awards grants to emerging artists in Hill’s home state of Minnesota and New York City, where he spent much of his creative life. The Foundation promotes a dynamic culture through support for artists, collectives and/or ensembles across all disciplines in the early stages of their vocational artistic lives to create new work and for nonprofit arts organizations that offer programs, services and activities for such artists, collectives and/or ensembles. The Jerome Foundation is affiliated with the Camargo Foundation in Cassis, France. www.jeromefdn.org

Mn Artists is home to art, writing, opportunities and conversation, online and off, by, for and about Midwestern artists working in every discipline. A program of the Walker Art Center, Mn Artists is dedicated to improving the quality and national visibility of regionally-rooted art, artists and cultural dialogue through a dynamic online community, responsive arts journalism, and by giving artists access to, and connections with, collaborators, influencers and the public. www.mnartists.org

The Minnesota Music Coalition is a statewide network for independent musicians who care about creating and sustaining a vibrant popular music community. Through education, communication, and advocacy, we create access to resources and professional development services. www.mnmusiccoalition.org

Founded in 1974 (incorporated in 1975), The Loft Literary Center is one of the nation's leading literary arts centers. The Loft advances the artistic development of writers, fosters a thriving literary community, and inspires a passion for literature.

McKnight has joined the MN Forward Pooled Fund alongside other contributing foundations and donors. We're grateful to partner with The Bush Foundation, Greater Twin Cities United Way, The Minneapolis Foundation, Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropies, Saint Paul & Minnesota Foundation, and the Mortenson Family Foundation on this new grant program.

Grants are available in two categories:
Fortify Grants will support the strategic planning and response efforts of organizations and coalitions/collaboratives as they address effects brought on by federal shifts.

Futuring Grants will support organizations and coalitions/collaboratives building for futures beyond the current moment with 10-, 20-, and 30-year visions where impacted communities are leading and thriving.

🔎 Who is eligible?
Grants are available for Minnesota-based, Minnesota-serving organizations and/or coalitions/collaboratives with annual budgets of $3 million or less.
Eligible organization types include Minnesota-based 501c3, 501c4 and 501c6 organizations, LLCs that provide services to nonprofits, groups with a fiscal sponsor, and tribal government programs with an annual program budget of $3 million or less.

We’re hiring! The Arts Board is expanding its grants management team and will add two new positions.

▪️The first—grants administration officer―was posted earlier and applications are being reviewed.
▪️The second—director, grants administration―has now been posted and the board is inviting applications for this vital new leadership position.

The director, grants administration will provide leadership and direction for the Arts Board grant making functions including supervising staff who have grant making responsibilities, ensuring that the board’s grant programs meet all federal and state laws and policies, enhancing the accountability of the agency’s grants management, developing greater efficiency in grant making and grants management, and measuring impact and outcomes of Arts Board grants.

Previous experience in grants management is required. A degree in business, finance, nonprofit or public administration; or legal training or experience are preferred.
