What does it look like when a rural community comes together to think about the meaning of future-ready learning?
Last week in Fergus Falls and Alexandria, students, educators, workforce leaders, and community members gathered to launch the Future-Ready Rural Schools Learning Lab, a three-year partnership between World Savvy, Lakes Country Service Cooperative, Fergus Falls Public Schools, and Alexandria Public Schools.
Together, the partnership will support these schools in creating more engaging, community-connected, and future-ready learning experiences for students. The work will focus on increasing educator capacity to expand instructional practices that build critical thinking, collaboration, real-world problem solving, and student leadership while strengthening connections between schools, community priorities, and regional workforce needs.
The conversation made clear that young people want learning that feels relevant to their lives, futures, and communities. We’re excited to partner alongside educators and community leaders across west-central Minnesota as this work takes root over the next three years.
