TAKE ACTION!!!! https://www.votervoice.net/DAVMN/Campaigns/137179/Respond

For a homeowner with a $3,000 annual property tax bill, the central planning estimate for updating Minnesota’s Disabled Veteran Homestead Exclusion illustrates a cost scale of roughly $3.60 per year.

For a few dollars a year, Minnesota can help disabled Veterans and surviving spouses remain in their homes.

The Disabled Veteran Homestead Market Value Exclusion has not been meaningfully updated since it was created in 2008. The current values are based on a housing market that no longer exists.

HF3727 / SF185 would modernize this existing benefit and help restore the value of Minnesota’s commitment to disabled Veterans.

This is not a major driver of local budget pressure. The central planning estimate shows the added shift from the $450,000 / $225,000 proposal is approximately 0.12% of total county estimated market value statewide.

Disabled Veterans paid a much higher price than a few dollars a year. Their injuries and disabilities do not go away when home values rise.

Please contact your State Senator and State Representative today and ask them to support HF3727 / SF185

A sincere thank you to Congressman Morgan Luttrell for meeting with DAV members at our Mid-Winter Conference. Direct conversations like these help ensure veterans’ priorities stay front and center. We are especially grateful to Rep. Luttrell for his comments recognizing the urgent need to support veterans exploring emerging treatments, including psychedelics, for PTSD and other invisible wounds.

DAV will keep working alongside lawmakers across the political spectrum to advance legislation that benefits veterans and their families. We appreciate your leadership and engagement, Rep. Luttrell.

On April 6, 2026, Thomas Edward Gwynn, known as Tullahoma's oldest resident and "The greatest Ranger that ever was," passed away at Life Care Center of Tullahoma at 106 years old.

Mr. Gwynn was born on June 2, 1919 in Moscow, Tennessee. He joined the United States Army and became an Army Ranger in April 1943. He served honorably in World War II and the Korean War, participating in major battles including D-Day, the Battle of the Bulge, the Battle of Normandy, and the Battle of Inchon. After his military service, he owned and operated Gwynn Appliance Repair in Tullahoma. He was a longtime active member of First Baptist Church and was well known and highly respected in the community.

Mr. Gwynn proudly served his county. He was buried with military honors at Bethany Cemetery in Normandy, Tennessee. We honor his legacy by remembering his name. Rest in peace.
