Great workday last Thur ladies! We cut, serged, sewed, ironed, ripped, grouped, repaired, counted & snapped.……. We also discussed how we’re ALMOST all gold standard recertification! We’ll work on that this month! Thanks again for your willingness to do whatever gets dropped in your laps! One more work day left this year…..

A UN report outlines global impact of period poverty:

- In the US, 1 in 4 teens & 1 in 3 adults struggle to afford period products.
- In Bangladesh, 32% of girls were aware of menstruation before their first period, resulting in many feeling shocked & afraid upon reaching menarche.
- A UN Women report from Gaza highlights that over 540,000 women & girls of reproductive age lack essential items for their hygiene, health, & dignity.

We take so much for granted!

What is Period Poverty?

Period poverty is a significant global issue impacting millions of women, girls, and people who menstruate. Each month, over 2 billion people menstruate, yet more than 1.5 billion people globally lack basic sanitation services, such as private toilets. This lack of access to adequate menstrual health supplies and education constitutes period poverty.

Days for Girls, is dedicated to addressing period poverty through comprehensive menstrual health education, increased access to menstrual products, training Social Enterprise leaders, and advocating for global menstrual equity in partnership with governments and health coalitions.
