Today is a busy day in the Hartland area!

Roads in the Village close for the Noon Parade from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm on Monday! Avon (Crouse to Maple) and Maple (Avon to Village Elementary) re-opens at 3:00 pm

There are also periodic Road Closures from 8:00 to 9:00 am for 5K Run/3K Walk along that route--see the map for reference!

Spring is salamander season in Michigan’s wet woods, vernal pools, and forested wetlands. In this new MSU Extension article, Paige Filice and Alexa Warwick take a closer look at these moisture-loving amphibians, including the eastern newt and its unusual three-stage life cycle. Salamanders play an important role in food webs and can also tell us a lot about ecosystem health, since their sensitive skin makes them especially vulnerable to pollution and habitat loss. If you are spending time in the woods this spring, there is a good chance some of the season’s most interesting wildlife is moving right underfoot.
