See how generations of veterans stood together on Capitol Hill to support the promise made to one generation that Benefit’s should never be funded by the pockets of the next generation.

On July 15, the VFW joined a powerful coalition including the DAV, IAVA, JWV, LULAC, and SVA to send a clear message: We will not accept Section 108 of the Take Care of America’s Veterans Act. While the bill contains many vital improvements we support, like the Major Richard Star Act, it attempts to pay for them by reducing earned disability compensation for future generations of veterans.

Thanks to your overwhelming advocacy, the House has postponed the vote. This is a testament to the strength of our community, but the fight is far from over. Our duty is to ensure that the benefits earned through sacrifice remain intact for every service member who follows in our footsteps.

To our Washington comrades and families: Your voice is our greatest weapon. Please continue to contact your representatives and tell them to oppose any legislation that cuts veteran benefits to balance the budget. We must honor the contract.

My first thanks to God, the rain pushed off and our annual Memorial Day ceremony was able to be held in our memorial park. Thanks also to all the people and community organizations who came out today to honor the people who make this the greatest country on Earth. I am so blessed to live in a town that gathers each year to celebrate in this way. Finally so many thanks to Felton Fire Company, without your support it would not have been possible.
