Rouuunnnd 2! 📢 We have heard your requests and we're excited to announce that The Jean Kvamme Center has officially launched a new merchandise collection!

We have new items and more options available in this launch, including long sleeves, a quarter zip pullover, and hats!
We are also selling youth sizes in tee-shirts, crewnecks and hoodies as well as adult sized unisex t-shirts, pullover sweatshirts, crewnecks, and zip-ups in a variety of sizes and colors.

These items will be available for purchase until May 6th, 2026! There are only 20 days to buy this collection and then they will no longer be available!
Items will begin shipping out in the middle of May.

This past weekend, some of our CTRIs traveled to Southern California for the PATH Intl. Region 11 Conference. During the trip, they visited the beautiful and gained valuable insights from industry experts, including Dr. Markel, Judy Westlake, and the Shea Center’s team of CTRIs, ATRIs, PTs, OTs, SLPs, LCSW, phenomenal staff and volunteers. They also networked with professionals representing 40 different centers across six states. 👥🩷🦄

Additionally, our team attended a large animal and equine rescue training for first responders. This session provided firefighters with essential skills in equine handling and first aid to ensure more effective emergency responses in the field. 🚒🚨

The JKC staff and CTRIs remain dedicated to the well-being and longevity of our equine partners to better serve our clients. 🐴✨💙

Jumping right back into our "Meet Our Team" series with our newest Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor Erin McCaleb! 🐴

Erin might be our most recent staff member to become a CTRI but she knows her stuff when it comes to riding, horse care, and general equine knowledge. She is particularly interested in equine wellness and nutrition. 🥗
Erin has been a member of the JKC community for almost five years! She enjoys leading group lessons and has taken up an interest in teaching more advanced lessons and learning about vaulting. 🤸🏼‍♀️

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her two horses, Koda and Georgia. She competes in various schooling events and loves spending hours on the trail. She is also interested in mental health and is currently in college studying Psychology. 📝

Happy New Year, everyone! 🎉

We are excited to jump back into our "Meet Our Team" series and announce our next feature. This month, we are focusing on the amazing Natalie Penrose. 🖤

Many of you have likely encountered Natalie around the center. She frequently leads our social groups, including Life Skills and Herd Sense, and facilitates various groundwork and riding lessons. She also participates in the quest of finding equine partners for our center. 🐴🩵

Natalie initially joined our program in 2022 after graduating from the University of California, Riverside, seeking experience with the disability community prior to beginning her Master’s program in Clinical Psychology. 📚
Today, she is a PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor. In addition to her work with our participants, she serves the program by managing our social media accounts and creating the signage you see around the barn. 💻

Please join us in celebrating Natalie and all the wonderful contributions she makes to our community! 🦄🩷

Vader is a Black Appendix gelding, and is one of the sweetest boys around! Next time you are at the center, make sure to say hi and give him some pets! He has done wonderfully his first week 🖤 and is making lots of friends!

We are so grateful for everything 2025 brought to us- great memories, meaningful moments, new smiling faces, and amazing horses to our herd. 🥰 We are so excited to see what 2026 has in store for all of us! Wishing health and wellness to all! 🎉

As we start gearing up for Christmas 🎄 at the Jean Kvamme Center, we want to take a moment and reflect on the Halloween festivities that were had at the Hangout social group! 🎃👻Our staff and horses were dressed up at the emotions from Inside Out 😃😢😡🫣🫨😵‍💫😮🥱🤢👵🏻 and as for our riders? Awesome and Fabulous!! 🤩

We are so grateful for Michael () and his amazing ability to capture the spirit, fun, and creativity that is found through Halloween Week at our center! All the photos in this video were taken by him! 👏🏼
