Our Story

Let Korean Music Association (KMA) Evergreen Choir and the Opera singers be your guide through Korean classical music. KMA features a wide variety of classical music such as gagok, Korean folk and opera. KMA aims to heal, entertain and satisfy Korean Americans with their yearning for cultural connection. KMA also strives to share and popularize Korean Classical music with a wider audience by introducing it through modern interpretation. KMA, led by Ray M. Kim, is a nonprofit music organization with a history of over 35 continuous years of Fall concerts, with the addition of Spring Charity Concerts for the last 7. Even if Korean Classical music is becoming less practiced, KMA’s passion and love for Korean Classical music has made it possible to open a concert every year. Alongside the concerts, KMA holds music competitions for youth musicians and donates to different causes such as Cornerstone Medical Services and to the victims of the sinking of MV Sewol. KMA also performs in various concerts in the community. The most recent concert was at Celebrate Asia, a part of the Seattle Symphony’s New Music WORKS initiative.
