Before we even stepped onto the floor, the arena already felt electric ⚡️

The Seattle Storm’s AANHPI Night at Climate Pledge Arena was in full swing as the Storm and Connecticut Sun battled on the court, while we prepared to tell the story of Pele and Nāmakaokahaʻi, sister goddesses of fire and sea.

The intensity on the court mirrored the rivalry between these sister goddesses, and we carried that same energy into our storytelling: explosive movement, the pounding of the ipu, and hair whipping like ocean waves crashing against molten lava. 🌊🔥

And when the crowd roared back at us, it became more than a halftime performance. It became a shared feeling of mana, pride, and representation.

Endlessly grateful to the Seattle Storm for creating space for storytelling, representation, and community on that floor.

Behind the scenes before the lights, crowd, and adrenaline ❤️‍🔥

Rehearsal moments from Climate Pledge Arena ahead of our halftime performance for the Seattle Storm’s first AANHPI Night. The story of Pele and Nāmakaokahaʻi comes alive through intensity, rhythm, and movement 🌋🌊 and this rehearsal captured all of it.

More from the halftime show coming soon!
