Several of our board members met with the leadership of the Okinawa Kai of Washington D.C. We had a very productive exchange of views covering a range of topics, including the history of the Okinawa Kai, new event initiatives, and ways to engage the second generation with the organization. We are deeply grateful to the board members of the Okinawa Kai of Washington D.C. for making time for us on a busy Sunday.

役員数名で、ワシントンD.C.沖縄会の役員の方々とお会いしてきました。
今までの沖縄会の様子、そして新しいイベント等の試み、2世の世代の沖縄会への関わり方。などいろいろな意見交換ができ、大変有意義な時間を過ごすことができました。
忙しい日曜日のなか、時間を作っていただいた@Okinawa Kai of Washington DC の役員の皆様に大変感謝いたします。

We have some very exciting news to share. The dates for the 8th Worldwide Uchinanchu Festival have been officially announced! The Fayetteville Okinawa Kenjinkai is planning to attend as well. We are already chimu-don-don(excited) abou this wonderful opportunity to connect with Uchinanchu (Okinawans) from all over the world!

毎年バンクーバー沖縄会が開催しているイチャリバンナイト(IVN)、沖縄の慰霊の日の鐘に合わせて開催されてましたが、今年は北米の多くの皆さんに参加して欲しいと、慰霊の日前の週末に開催決定しました。
北米に在住の皆様、また沖縄から県人会を応援してくださっている皆様、是非オンラインで平和学習や舞台、そして世界の恒久平和への想いを共にできたらと思います。🕊🌿✨🙏

Sa-yuisa mo-re— is a special song and dance, and we were honored to be joined by Nitta-san (Kaizan Nitta) and the amazing audience.

It’s so beautiful to be able to share our culture and our joy with so many people. It makes us so happy to see the happiness on so many people’s faces as they take part in our traditional dances and celebration!

This was our final performance at Animazement 2026. Thank you Animazement for having us!!! We cherish our friendship!

Congratulations to all our performers!! You all did so amazing at this year’s Animazement!!!!!

Special thanks to Animazement for inviting us to perform again, and to Nitta-san (Kaizan Nitta) for allowing us the special opportunity to work closely with him for an amazing collaboration.

This year, we were honored to be able to collaborate with Nitta-san (Kaizan Nitta) and have him join the stage with us to sing and play the sanshin as our Kafu Daiko members danced along! This was an amazing opportunity!!!!!

We are incredibly proud to have participated in Animazement, the exceptional event held at the Raleigh Convention Center on 5/23.

Thanks to our hard work and dedication, the members of "Kafuu Daiko" delivered an outstanding performance. During our final piece, Sa-yuisa-more, we engaged with the audience, creating a memorable moment that fostered a strong sense of unity among us all. This event was undeniably special, allowing us to fully embrace Yuimaru, the spirit of mutual aid and cooperation handed down through generations in Okinawa.

We sincerely thank Ms. Aoyagi of Animazement for her support in making this experience possible.
