Today we celebrate Gold Star Mothers and Families—honoring those whose remarkable sacrifice has touched our nation. The last Sunday of September stands as Gold Star Family and Gold Star Mother's Day, a time to recognize their enduring legacy.

The Gold Star Lapel Button, a symbol of profound respect and remembrance, was officially established in August 1947.
