Yesterday our Executive Director, Carlene, gave an amazing presentation in front of the City-County Liaison Committee at City Hall. We are glad to be able to spread the word about the Cumberland County Council on Older Adults and all that we do for the seniors of the community. We hope to continue to be allocated funding to help Meals on Wheels and our other important programs ❤️ Major Jason Hughes, Corps Officer with the The Salvation Army of the Sandhills Region also have a great presentation about the Salvation Army and all they are doing. There’s so much work to do in the community and we are glad to be a part.

***The Salvation Army is offering senior activities on Thursdays at 1030am, this includes devotional with activities and lunch🥪 You can contact them at 910-483-8119 for more information

Hello Friends!

We are asking the community to donate candy to our Fall Blessings Treat Drive, in efforts to give local seniors something sweet, while putting a smile on their faces during this upcoming holiday. We respect that not everyone observes or celebrates Halloween; we just want to share the joy of giving to our seniors and let them know they are thought of throughout the year.

Please come by our office located at 339 Devers St, with your bags of candy

Collection dates are now through October 28th.

You can also give your candy to any employee of the Council on Older Adults, and we will make sure it goes with the donations.

Share and spread the word on this sweet chance to help the seniors of the community 🍬🍭🍫

A special thank you to Mayor Pro Tem Derrick Thompson, District 6, for inviting us to his Chat and Chew yesterday evening, we had an excellent crowd, some heard of us before and some hadn’t, so we were able to spread the word about our programs. A lot of valuable information and feedback was given by all. We urge the community to come out to events given by your councilmen and women, especially in the districts you reside in. Stay informed!
