NWA Equality provides programming, education, and advocacy to serve, connect, and empower the LGBTQ community. Northwest Arkansas Equality, Inc.

is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing programming, education, and advocacy to serve, connect, and empower the LGBTQ community. Recognized as Arkansas’ regional voice for equality and inclusion, we provide free HIV/STI testing services, support groups, resources, and community events. 👑 The New Miss Gay Arkansas! 👑 Crowned last night in Little Rock, Claire Annette is the 55th Miss Gay Arkansas America!

A clothing designer, tailor, and Little Rock drag entertainer, Claire brings a clever, comedic lightheartedness to the stage. She captured the crown at the 54th Annual Miss Gay Arkansas Pageant, winning Interview and Talent with an imaginative, nature-inspired comedic production that combined live clarinet, dance, baton work, and lip-sync into a beautifully staged presentation.

Claire will now go on to represent Arkansas at the national Miss Gay America Pageant this January in Atlanta.

NWA Equality looks forward to Claire’s appearances and involvement in Northwest Arkansas and throughout the state over the next year!

👑 It’s Time for the 54th Annual Miss Gay Arkansas Pageant Weekend! 👑 
Since 1972, the Miss Gay Arkansas America Pageant has been a tradition and cornerstone of Arkansas’ Q***r culture. This weekend in Little Rock, the community comes together to celebrate the 54th Annual Miss Gay Arkansas America Pageant at the DoubleTree Hotel in Downtown Little Rock, continuing more than five decades of artistry, competition, community, and excellence.
 This year’s Arkansas pageant also marks the first since the passing of Miss Gay America 1973 and Miss Gay Arkansas Emeritus, Norma Kristie, whose vision established more than 50 years of Symbols of Excellence and a legacy that has shaped generations of entertainers in Arkansas and across the country.
 One year ago, Melanie Masters proved that the third time really was the charm, capturing the Arkansas crown with an original comedic talent presentation and a sweeping performance across the competition. She has carried that same unmistakable wit, creativity, and sense of humor throughout her year as Miss Gay Arkansas, proudly representing the title across the state and on the national Miss Gay America stage, with plenty of laughter and giggles along the way.
 As Melanie prepares to complete her reign, NWA Equality sends its best wishes to all 10 contestants competing from across the Natural State this weekend, with a special shoutout to Northwest Arkansas’ representatives, Inertia™️ and Sugga Cookies.
