I started this page because I want to commit to helping the community where we need to the most and that is through education. That is not only the children but the parents as well. We have started reading workshops with the parents of the children that attend the school. We don't want to send a child home to a parent who is not able to help with homework, neither do we want the parent to feel hop
eless in helping his / her child to succeed. You can't build a better today without looking forward to the future . Before accepting a child into the school there are rules set forth that the parent/ parents must help in anyway they can by keeping the school ground clean, cooking and gardening. There will be opportunities to learn how to read write, and carrying these skills into every day situations which will help them - this includes learning how to run small businesses, applying for jobs, going for interviews, etc. Even though a lot of the parents did not have the quality education some of us were so fortunate to have, the willingness of their spirits has not faded. It has continued to grow stronger and stronger each time they complete a step in the program for higher learning and just day to day life through social & economic changes. We also continue to learn ourselves about the culture and about what it takes to continuously be driven to make a difference - we believe will succeed and they will too. We are an NGO, so we do take donations that benefit the children and the parents. You can also sponsor a child, contribute to food for a family, or help send a child to college. Nothing is too little or too big - everything is well received from books to monetary funds, clothes, shoes and sports equipment. Or maybe you can come out to speak to the children or help with sports activities. The staff, children and parents will welcome you with open arms.
