Years ago, it was known as the Project XL Summer Readiness Program—created with one goal in mind: helping students feel confident and prepared as they transitioned into a new grade level.
Over time, that vision grew.
PXL became more than just a summer experience. It became a year-round commitment to supporting students academically, socially, and emotionally.
But through all the growth, one thing became clear:
The transition to middle school—especially 6th grade—is one of the most critical and challenging shifts in a student’s academic journey.
Now, Project XL has come full circle!
We are returning to our summer roots with a refined focus:
➡️ Preparing rising 6th graders for a successful transition into middle school
➡️ Building confidence, structure, and real academic readiness
➡️ Supporting students as they step into a brand new chapter
This work didn’t start overnight.
It started years ago when my own child was preparing for kindergarten… and now, he’s a freshman in college.
That journey, along with years of working with students, has shaped what Project XL is today.
And now a new group of students will be in 6th grade!!
