From the heart of one of our own.

Story time...
Riquita and I had a conversation just before she passed away about maintaining our membership in CVMA after moving from Oklahoma to NC. My member number used to be FM-17720. We were in the process of being dropped from CVMA when Kita passed away. She is not honored as an Alpha Omega. I carry that decision every day.
As you can tell, my new number is FM-31069. I restarted my membership immediately. I didn't want to ride alone. During that time people caught wind of my degree in Information Technology and I became the Webmaster for my Chapter in January of 2025. Curby was in need of a break.
It's a Staff Officer position but not a voted position. 100% voluntary and I just utilizing my education. Keep in mind every IT Guys nightmare is old people who don't know how to use computers. I love these people so it evens out.
During that time I had the opportunity to really lean into the people and the organization. I sponsored a wonderful brother (Tiger). I've seen disagreements lead to leadership changes. I've witnessed physical altercations. At the end of the day we love motorcycles and Vets Helping Vets. Sweat equity is my favorite way to give back but I will gladly honor those who have passed and be there for my Brother's and Sister's when life hits a breaking point.
I've lived more heartbreak than most can imagine. I don't lead with that knowledge. I lean into it when someone goes through something that I have experienced firsthand. All that said, I am beyond honored to have earned Life Membership in CVMA.
These people saved me after Kita passed away. I had a place to go. A way to get out of my house. I have ridden over 12,000 miles since her passing and I still reach back and touch my saddle bag as if I am touching Kita's leg. Beyond any words I can't explain how much I love this organization.
It's a good thing we are in this together forever now. Lifetime membership and the ability to honor all those before me and pave the way for those after me... Priceless. This is to the largest chapter of my life.
