Congratulations, Dr. Hashindra Herath! 💕💫

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Dr. Hashindra Herath, who has successfully defended her Ph.D. in Geosciences at the University of Arkansas. Her doctoral dissertation, "A Multi-Proxy Geochemical Investigation of the Mississippi Valley-Type Mineralization in the Central and Eastern United States: Constraints on Metal Sources and Thermal Evolution of the Ore-Forming Fluids," advances understanding of ore-forming processes by integrating geochemistry, mineralogy, and isotope systems.

Prior to pursuing her Ph.D., she earned her B.Sc. in Geology from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka and completed a master’s degree at the University of Mississippi.

Within the Sri Lankan Student Association at UARK, Hashindra served as our first Treasurer, and currently is our Vice President. She has played a key role in building our association.

As she celebrates a significant milestone in her academic journey, on behalf of the Sri Lankan Student Association at the University of Arkansas, we extend our heartiest congratulations to Dr. Hashindra Herath and wish her continued success in all her future endeavors!

Congratulations, Dr. Ruvindu Perera! 🎓🇱🇰

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Ruvindu Perera, a doctoral graduate in Cellular and Molecular Biology at the University of Arkansas. His research on developing and evaluating bacterial vaccines to reduce BCO lameness in broiler chickens reflects both innovation and impact in the field of poultry health.

This past year, Ruvindu earned top honors by winning the 3 Minute Thesis competition at U of A and advancing to the final round at the Conference of Southern Graduate Schools, an outstanding achievement!

Today, he successfully defended his doctorate in Cell and Molecular Biology, marking a major milestone in his academic journey.

On behalf of the Sri Lankan Student Association at the University of Arkansas, we extend our heartfelt congratulations and wish him continued success ahead. 🌟
