Congratulations, Dr. Ruvindu Perera! 🎓🇱🇰

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Ruvindu Perera, a doctoral graduate in Cellular and Molecular Biology at the University of Arkansas. His research on developing and evaluating bacterial vaccines to reduce BCO lameness in broiler chickens reflects both innovation and impact in the field of poultry health.

This past year, Ruvindu earned top honors by winning the 3 Minute Thesis competition at U of A and advancing to the final round at the Conference of Southern Graduate Schools, an outstanding achievement!

Today, he successfully defended his doctorate in Cell and Molecular Biology, marking a major milestone in his academic journey.

On behalf of the Sri Lankan Student Association at the University of Arkansas, we extend our heartfelt congratulations and wish him continued success ahead. 🌟

Introducing our 2025-26 team! 🥂

Nadee graduated from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, with a bachelor's in Immunology and Integrative Molecular Biology. She joined the University of Arkansas in Fall 2022. She has been a driving force behind SLSA since its inception. We are honored to have Nadee leading our team this year!
