🐾 I love dogs so consider this your PSA for our fur-friends.

Meet Kihei “key-hey” he’s our Golden ❤️

🥶 Lows tonight in the Ozarks will be as low as the single digits; most of us will be in the teens.

FYIs..
⚠️ Paws can get frostbite! So can tails and ears, sometimes less than 30min in extreme cold
⚠️ Short haired dogs lose heat much faster than long haired dogs
⚠️ Shivering means they’re already too cold. They won’t show discomfort until it’s serious
⚠️ Even with fur, the wind can strip away heat; it’s worse if it’s wet. Make sure and dry the paws on those days, too!

Just like putting the back of your hand on pavement to see if it’s too hot…

If it’s too cold to stand outside for you.. it’s too cold for them!

Take care of them tonight!

“Sissy” is a precious, sweet, approx. 18-month old Mountain Cur mix that’s available for adoption with one of our rescue friends in NW AR. Her foster says she *loves* other dogs and people, is housebroken, leash- and crate-trained. (Sissy’s too interested in kitties to be placed in a home with cats, though.) Sissy weighs about 60 lbs. and is fully vetted, ready for her own home for the holidays. Could you make Sissy’s holidays be merry and bright? Meet Frida, a 3-year-old tabby with a lot of personality! Frida was adopted at 9 weeks old from a shelter, and has enjoyed a safe and happy life as an inside cat. She is exceptionally smart, super loving and sweet. Her favorite toy is a crumpled paper ball. She's a cuddler, but respectful of your space. Raised on dry food, she now enjoys a little dollop of Cheez Whiz with each meal. Frida gets along with everyone - people of all ages plus dogs and cats. Frida's owner regrets that she can no longer care for her, and wants to find her a new forever home. Of course she is spayed, current on vaccines and litterbox trained.

Reaching out to all the Pyrenees lovers out there…we are assisting with a case in rural Washington County. An owner has relinquished 6 puppies so far, and there are still more that we need to rescue.
We have 4 males, 2 females, 5 months old.
All are being fully vetted. They are ready for fosters or adopters. Once these are placed, we can go get another litter that is still in need. We are spaying/neutering all the adults on the property, so this cycle will end.
