Last week, the Magdalene staff attended the Region One Prevention Conference, “On the Frontlines of Substance Misuse.” This one‑day workshop was a valuable professional development experience, highlighting the growing resources available in Northwest Arkansas and the alternative programming supporting individuals in recovery.

A special highlight was the keynote presentation from best‑selling author William Magee, who shared his family’s substance use journey and his own path to recovery.

Such an amazing experience! Ten years ago, Congress approved a bipartisan bill to recognize and celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. As part of that effort, America250.org, a nonpartisan collective, is now traveling the country capturing the voices that define our communities.

This mobile recording studio is gathering stories from the people and organizations shaping America from the ground up, preserving them as part of our living national history. Magdalene’s Executive Director, Takama Statton-Brooks, and Founding Board Member, Suzanne Stoner, were excited to take a seat on the couch and share Magdalene’s contributions to strengthening and uplifting the local community.

St. Theodore’s Women’s Ministry THANK YOU for your donation of household goods. We enjoyed hosting some of their members last week for our Quarterly Open House and getting to spend some time with them! And as always, having one of our Founding Board members, Lowell Grisham join was an added bonus!

They've done it again! We're so very thankful to Marshalltown Tools for showing up once again with willing hands and generous hearts.

This time, the big project was tackling the shed and garage--cleaning, sorting, and organizing items that have been collected over the years. It was no small task!

They also graciously loaded and delivered items to Habitat for Humanity, helping us clear space while making sure items can continue to be useful in our community.

We love our community partners and are so grateful for the continued support of Marshalltown Tools year after year. Thank you for investing your time, energy, and care into this work alongside us- we couldn't do it without you!
