ATTENTION LAKE LYNN RESIDENTS

We will open the dam and begin lowering the lake on February 5th. The lake will remain lowered for approximately 3 weeks. During this time we will assess the dam and make any repairs needed. Lake front residents can use this time to make repairs on docks or retaining walls. Please do not access the dam area while the lake is drained and Fishing is PROHIBITED during this time. Reach out to any board member with concerns or questions.

As requested, here is an announcement regarding the lake water level.

There was an issue with the dam’s sluice gate when the main operating shaft was severely bent after being over-tightened in an attempt to close the gate. The shaft required complete replacement, which involved custom fabrication and extensive underwater mechanical work.

After the new shaft was installed, we flushed the sluice gate but were unaware that a large branch was lodged in the opening, preventing the gate from sealing fully. This obstruction caused the water level to drop much faster than expected. Clearing the debris required both a backhoe to remove material around the gate and a diver to dislodge the branch manually.

The gate is now closed and secured. However, we are in urgent need of rainfall to help restore the reservoir. At present, the water level is rising at a rate of approximately ¾ to 1 inch per day, and we are monitoring it closely.

A lovely evening on the lake.
