I AM YOU-nique Summer Academy 2026 – A Mid-Summer Recap

A Note From Our Founder | Executive Director:

Every year, the I AM YOU-nique Summer Youth Academy intentionally highlights a different culture represented within our community. We welcomed Ms. Hodge, a proud U.S. Virgin Islands native, who shared the traditions of her homeland with a taste of the islands through her homestyle curry chicken dish.

This delicious experience reminded us that traditional food has a beautiful way of bringing communities together.

Greater Life of Fayetteville is grateful for the generous support of the Cumberland Community Foundation, Inc.’s Summertime Kids Fund, empowering our youth to celebrate cultures and traditions that extend beyond their own experiences.

A Note From Our Founder | Executive Director:

Blending the wonders of nature with the power of creative expression is a 'win-win' for our valued partners at the Cape Fear Botanical Garden, who provided our youth in the "I AM YOU-nique" Summer Youth Academy with an unforgettable day of botanical inspiration.

This nature-inspired art experience allowed our youth to explore nature's beauty while using vibrant watercolor sprays on natural elements to create colorful botanical artwork.

We truly appreciate the Summertime Kids Fund of the Cumberland Community Foundation, Inc. for helping our youth strengthen their creativity and expand their artistic skills.
