Join us in Fayetteville, AR for the Growing Hope conference and hear Dr. Bill Robertson talk about the power of integrating crops and livestock!

Dr. Robertson recently retired after a long career as the Cotton Extension Agronomist with the University of Arkansas Extension Service. He also worked for the National Cotton Council for a few years, focusing on improving the sustainability of cotton production. Bill and his wife, Carey, have a livestock farm where they raise sheep and many other livestock species using prescribed grazing techniques.

Happy Earth Day! What better way to celebrate than to make plans to join other farmers who are working to create more sustainable and resilient communities. Join us at the Growing Hope Conference to hear from speakers Felicia Bell and Linda Coffey, both NCAT Agriculture Specialists.

Felicia Bell is a fourth-generation farmer and founding member of RD&S Farm, LLC. She is fascinated by traditional agriculture strategies of all cultures, especially African farming methods and techniques.

Linda Coffey has a wealth of experience raising livestock and a family on the farm, and she has a gift for sharing her passion for sustainable agriculture with beginning farmers. She was the leader of NCAT's Women, Livestock, and the Land training program and is widely recognized for her work in small ruminant parasite prevention.

Reverend Dr. Heber Brown, III is the founder of The Black Church Food Security Network, a national organization of African American congregations that works to advance food justice. He has been a catalyst for personal transformation and social change for more than twenty years.

Accelerating Appalachia's Building Soil, Building Equity Initiative Farmer Fund will incentivize up to 400 producers in Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee, South Carolina, West Virginia, Virginia, Southern Ohio, and Northern Georgia to build soil health and expand conservation farming. The program will provide up to $1,000 per acre for adoption of 12 specified farming and forestry practices. A total of $12 million in cash incentives and $6 million in training and marketing services is available. Learn more at attra.ncat.org/category/news/.
