These are all of our boys and girls, we take responsibility for their actions and share in the glory. From a former assistant scoutmaster (dad) and a troop leader (Eagle Scout).

It’s here and it’s bittersweet. Today our son becomes an officer in the United States Military. From the time he was a toddler he wanted anything and everything military related. Clothes, movies, toys-you name it. As much as I tried to say “Son, I served for our family” he persisted and reached for the goals he had set for himself. There was nothing left for us to do but support his decisions.
Brandon, to say that we are proud is an understatement. You did all of this on your own. You were taught hard lessons along the way and no matter how many times you were knocked down, you got right.back.up!
You’ve worked tirelessly and today, you rightfully earn the rank of 2LT. We’re excited to watch you begin this new chapter in life. May it be as exciting and fulfilling as you’ve dreamed it to be. Godspeed Son. ❤️

Proud moment for troop 740. Newly minted second lieutenant and Eagle Scout Lowell Gothard earning his commission from West Point. Oath administered by ASM and Brigadier General Jay Gothard, US Army retired. Officiated by ASM and Colonel J. Carlos Vega. Present were committee member Jan Gothard and Eagle Scouts William Gothard and Brandon Vega, as well as other friends and family.
