You might remember the story of a cross-border collaboration between us and a partner organization in Sierra Leone. Two organizations that are passionate about children living in families joined together to reunify a girl who had been trafficked to Sierra Leone. The story of Em is one that we are still so humbled to be able to play a small role in. And now, Em’s story has been turned into a picture book, where you might see a few familiar [illustrated] faces. It’s amazing what happens when you just say YES! Happy to report that Em continues to thrive after reunification with her family, and her family benefits from our programs. As an organization, we will go to great lengths to make sure families are together. And because of our incredible staff and donors, Em and her family are together!

Today is Giving Tuesday. We realize that there are so many amazing organizations that you can partner with today, but we invite you to give to Red Meets Green today. When you give to RMG, your donation directly impacts a family in Liberia. The family in this photo joined the RMG family when the young boy was found on the beach, and we partnered with the local police station to find his family. Instead of a missing person, he was missing from his family. Not only did our incredible staff in Liberia find his family, and they quickly became beneficiaries of our full range of programming. At the reunification, we learned that the adult wasn’t his mom, but was actually his sister. Child-headed households need a village to wrap their arms around them to support and empower them. Otherwise there is a grea risk of separation. Your giving enables us to reach one more family. You can give your tax-deductible donation at redmeetsgreen.org/donate today!

As we celebrate this day of thanksgiving, we're reminded of the incredible privilege it is to serve families in Liberia. We're grateful for each and every one of you who has joined us on this journey, offering prayers, encouragement, and support every step of the way. Your contributions are invaluable and have helped create a beautiful picture of the body of Christ at work. Happy Thanksgiving from the Red Meets Green family!

Happy Friday from Liberia! Our social workers have been busy with home visits with the families that have been newly added to our program. The needs in Liberia are great, so the RMG family is growing—we have a few new volunteers to help with the workload.

We cannot do this work without the generous gifts of others. In order to meet the needs in front of us, we will be fundraising like crazy over the next few months. We have more families that we’d like to add to our programs, but we don’t have the financial resources to add them. And the truth is that fundraising has been difficult this year. We have done so much with so little. But we’d like to do MORE! We need faithful monthly donors who will commit to give on a monthly basis to help cover both operational and program costs. In Liberia, RMG has three paid staff members, four volunteers, and fourteen families that we fully serve. There are more families that we’d like to add for 2026, and we also have huge dreams for starting the Liberia Careleaver Network this year! Please consider making a tax-deductible donation so that we can adequately serve our current families, and hopefully add more families to our program in the new year. redmeetsgreen.org/donate

Empowering families and strengthening child protection across Liberia is at the heart of our mission. In collaboration with key stakeholders and the Government of Liberia, our social workers participate in the Child Protection Network. We want our impact to reach beyond only the families that we are able serve, while advocating for protection for all of Liberia’s children. Red Meets Green envisions a future where every Liberian child is safe and protected, so that children and families will thrive. Thriving families means a thriving Liberia!

Liberia celebrates Thanksgiving on the first Thursday in November. We have so much to be grateful for! We are grateful for our staff, our donors and our partners. We are so grateful that the Lord continues to give us the opportunity to play a small part in empowering and ministering to children and families in Liberia. We realize that our organization’s role is both unique and challenging—there aren’t really any other organizations in Liberia that are doing what we do. We feel that responsibility, but are grateful for the privilege! Happy Thanksgiving!

Graduating from high school in Liberia takes hard work, dedication and many times, the help of others. We are so proud of one of our schorlarship students, who graduated from high school today! We first met Daddy years ago when he was living in an orphanage, and Red Meets Green had the privilege of coming alongside him and his family after being reunified. At the same time, we’ve been able to provide other services to empower his family. Both of these are a huge success!

Walking alongside families is holy work. Our social workers are there for the highs and lows. Many times vulnerable families come into our path during a low, and God gives us the opportunity to come around them, figure out their true needs and cheer them on. We might help meet practical needs, but ultimately, we want to point them to Christ. Our current practical need is school fees. We have 25 children enrolled this school year, and we need your help to start making second installments. Make your tax-deductible gift, and give a child an education, which changes their world.

One of the greatest honors our staff had last year was being able to play a pivotal role in reunifying an 11 year old girl with her family. Em had been trafficked from Liberia to Sierra Leone, and her parents had no idea that she was in another country. Thanks to a cross-border partnership with our friends at Helping Children Worldwide, Em was reunified with her family and community! Prezton recently helped retell the story on the Optimistic Voices podcast. We are grateful to God that Em is doing well, and we have been able to come alongside her family and add them to our program. Miracle stories like this wouldn’t happen without like-minded organizations, partnership and generous donors!
