KAT (Please read)
Koolz Adoption Program - TNR(“KAT”) is a small 501(c)(3) Non-profit Organization that specializes in Trap-Neuter-Release of feral/stray cats to help minimize community cat overpopulation. We occasionally re-home feral/stray cats that are deemed adoptable to their furever homes. At this time, we are no longer taking dogs into the rescue as we are becoming geared towards the TNR service.
What is TNR? Trap-Neuter-Return, or "TNR," is the most humane and effective method known for managing feral and stray cats and reducing their numbers. The cats, who typically live together in a group called a colony, are trapped and brought to a veterinary clinic. They're then spayed or neutered, vaccinated for rabies and FELV and eartipped. After they've recovered from their surgeries, the cats are returned back to their original territory where a caretaker provides regular food and shelter. When foster or permanent homes are available, young kittens and friendly adults are removed and placed for adoption.
Do you feed or regularly see feral or stray cats in your neighborhood? Contact us and we will help out as best as we can with humanely trapping them and getting them quality vet care. We DO NOT completely remove cats from neighborhoods. What TNR brings by allowing these cats to stay in their original community is a decrease in the cat population around your neighborhood. Intact males are less likely to travel and repopulate the area.
After the cats are released back to the community, we will regularly visit the area as needed for feeding, re vaccinating and supplying seasonal needs. If you have a community that needs winter shelter, we are the rescue to contact!
