At this past Friday’s Kiwanis Club of Fayetteville meeting, retired Registered Nurse Kelly Hendricks presented a compelling and entertaining overview of her remarkable career with the Cumberland County Department of Public Health.

After 30 years and 10 months of dedicated service, Kelly retired as the Public Health School Nurse Team Leader. She is now enjoying more time with family and, of course, playing pickleball!

The Kiwanis Club of Fayetteville, NC proudly celebrated the induction of our incoming officers and board members while honoring the dedicated leaders who have served before them.

Leadership in Kiwanis is more than holding a position. It is choosing to serve, choosing to lead with compassion, and choosing to believe that every child deserves the opportunity to feel supported, encouraged, and valued.

To our outgoing officers and board members, thank you for the countless hours, thoughtful decisions, and commitment you have given to our club and our community. Your service has created a foundation that will continue to make a difference long after your term has ended.

To our incoming officers and board members, congratulations as you step into this new chapter of leadership. May you lead with courage, kindness, vision, and the understanding that even the smallest act of service can change the course of a child’s life.

Our mission comes alive through the programs and projects that allow us to reach children and families throughout Fayetteville and Cumberland County — including Terrific Kids, Reading Is Fun, Youth Baseball, Family Fun Day, Reverse Raffle, Annual Golf Tournament, our Sock Drive, school and community outreach, youth service initiatives, and the continued growth of our Young Professionals Satellite Club.

Each book placed into a child’s hands, each child recognized for doing their best, each family supported, and each young person encouraged reminds us why this work matters.

We may never know the full impact of every hour volunteered, every donation made, or every child encouraged — but together, those moments become something powerful.

They become hope.

They become opportunity.

They become a stronger community.

As we begin another Kiwanis year, we are grateful for those who have led, inspired by those stepping forward, and united by one shared purpose:
