Easy lives hide expensive choices
The wicked sleep just fine.
Sometimes…
The selfish get ahead.
The dishonest find shortcuts.
The wicked sleep just fine.
While good people struggle.
Carry responsibility.
Do things properly.
And pay for it.
It can make you question the whole arrangement.
Until time passes…
And you start seeing beneath the surface.
The shortcut created something fragile.
The lie needed another lie.
The selfishness cost relationships.
The easy choices quietly accumulated interest.
Meanwhile,
the person doing things properly;
Was building something slower.
Trust.
Character.
A life that can actually hold its own weight.

Good people suffer.
