World Health Organization (WHO) recommends starting within the first hour of birth and continuing for at least two years.

Volunteers needed!

"Fayetteville Moms, I NEED your help. Every year I host a couple of events to teach the Methodist University students about pregnancy and breastfeeding. I'm hosting a breastfeeding workshop on Friday the 30th of January from 1-5 pm and a prenatal assessment class on Thursday the 29th of January from 8 am to noon.

For the prenatal lab I need 2-3 pregnant mothers who are at least 6 months pregnant and who are willing to let us measure their belly, listen to the baby's heartbeat, and feel the belly to tell what position the baby is in. (Thursday 8-12). I wouldn't need you the whole time. I'm hoping to have 4 volunteers who can each stay for two hours.

For the Breastfeeding workshop (Friday 1-5 pm) I am looking for breastfeeding mothers who willing to come feed their babies and talk to the students about your feeding experience. I need about 5-10 mothers and babies. Age doesn't matter, newborn to 5 years old. I am hoping to expose the students to all sides of the breastfeeding experience.

*La Leche Cafe Meeting THIS Saturday, January 10th 9:30am-10:30am. Free in person breastfeeding support in the nursery room of the Macpherson Presbyterian Church. We will meet at the church playground out front if weather allows!* 🌞

Happy New Year! We hope that you will join us for a fantastic year ahead!

Enrichment meetings are meant to enrich our breastfeeding, parenting and family experiences. We are SO excited to have several local organizations co-hosting Enrichment Meetings this year. Meetings are free to those that attend. In person breastfeeding support is available at all Enrichment Meetings as well.

La Leche Cafe for in person breastfeeding support will continue the 2nd Saturday of each month at Macpherson Presbyterian Church. Come have some coffee, chat about experiences, ask questions and find your village!

All meetings are FREE. Pregnant and support persons are encouraged to attend.
