Congratulations to Cleveland Guardians’ Gavin Williams, Fayetteville native & our 2026 Fayetteville Rotary Christmas parade Grand Marshal, on a historic MLB postseason! With 33 strikeouts in 16.2 innings pitched, his 45.9% strikeout percentage is the highest in MLB history for a single postseason. He finished the regular season as the American League’s strikeout leader, with 248 Ks. Join us on Dec. 12 to celebrate his outstanding season!!

Today we welcomed Tiffany S. Ervin Executive Director of Rotary’s The CART Fund who shared an update on the impact of CART (Coins for Alzheimer’s Research). Last year, Rotary contributions supported over $4.5 million for research. Tiffany recognized our own Joe Running as a CART Changemaker. Joe has reignited our club’s CART giving & raised over $2700 in the last 6 months, to honor his late wife & Rotarian, Maureen, who passed earlier this year, after living several years with Dementia. In addition to CART, Joe is participating in the upcoming Walk to End Alzheimer’s Fayetteville scheduled on Oct. 24.

The 27th Annual Fayetteville Rotary Club Christmas Parade returns to downtown Fayetteville on Saturday, December 12th to celebrate the holiday season and will be led by the 2026 Grand Marshal, Fayetteville native, Gavin Williams, starting MLB pitcher for Cleveland Guardians , the 2026 American League Central Division champions!
