Cross Creek Knitting Guild is meeting again. We are excited. Come join us! We meet at Kiwanis Recreation Center 352 Deavers St Fayetteville NC 28303. Next week is May 21st 1-4pm.
At the April Guild Meeting it was decided that the guild is going to work on several projects together as KAL'S. They are as follows:
1- Monkey Socks by Cookie A
Deborah will have patterns for us if we need them at the next meeting. Please go to Ravelry and look this pattern up. If you scroll down on the page for it, you'll see that it's available for $6.00, BUT if you look at the paragraph just below that, you'll see a link that tells you that it's still available for free in Knitty. Click on where it says Knitty, Winter 2006 and you will be taken to another page. On that page, it shows a picture of a lady in a red hat on the left side of the page. Underneath the picture, it says Knitty, Winter 2006. Click on that and you'll go to the actual page. There, you will see a blue bar with tabs under the title Knitty. Click on the one that says "patterns" and it will bring up all the patterns in that issue. The one you want is called "Monkey". This sounds like a lot of work, but it really isn't. Please look at the pattern. You could print off your pattern if you would like to, but AT LEAST see what type of yarn you will need and supplies. We would like to cast on for these at out next meeting in May. It calls for sock yarn, about 400 yards.
2- Harvest Sweater by Tin Can Knits
Deborah will have patterns for those who weren't at this months meeting. Some of us will need to find sweater quanities of yarn.
3- Alaska Hat by Camille Descoteaux
Deborah will have patterns for those who weren't at this month's meeting. This pattern is on Ravelry, so you can check out some of the ones that have been done to get an idea of yarn that you might want to use.
4- Forth Hat by Ysolda Teague
Deborah will have patterns for this one for those who weren't at last month's meeting as well. This pattern can be made using any weight of yarn. It's on Ravelry, so you can check it out also to see what others have used in the past.
Our next meeting will be May 21st. Please mark your calanders now. If anyone has any questions, just let either myself, Pat or Deborah know.
Take care get your needles fired up!!!!!
