We are an active lifestyle, Life Plan retirement community in beautiful Northwest Arkansas.

The Village occupies close to 45 acres and supports almost 400 residents with a staff of close to 200 employees. Our residents enjoy life in beautiful, maintenance-free accommodations with full access to amenities intended to enrich and expand life's opportunities. Our Life Plan community is designed for healthy, active adults who live independently but want to provide for the possibility that they may need extended care in the future.

"Take Five" is a longstanding monthly resident happy hour that always results in such great conversations and fellowship. This month's theme was "Summer Salsa & Margs" and the enticement of excellent neighbors to visit with over tasty treats brought out an excellent crowd (plus, it's waaaay too 🔥🔆🔥to do anything outside!) It's true...you can always find fun at Butterfield!!

Butterfield residents' generosity truly knows no bounds - just ask any employee!! 🥰
Here's a fun photo of some adorable ladies who also happen to be part of the crew of folks who organize giveaways throughout the year to bless BTV staff. They work incredibly hard to gather and organize loads of donated items from all across campus, and then roll out to staff two full days of employee browsing for free goodies. Larger, more valuable items are set up for drawings. You can be sure that there's a lot of excitement when these special opportunities come around!

Learn the names that will be given to Butterfield's expanded assisted living environment, additional independent living apartments and new restaurant - all honoring the historic roots of Butterfield Trail Village and its future legacy as we anticipate this exciting project completion in late 2027.

For 40 years, Butterfield has boasted a unique color of stone in our buildings - with warm tones that make the campus immediately recognizable and cohesive in a way that helps us define a sense of place for our Village. But, until now, we've never truly had an entrance befitting the beauty of our 45 acre campus. 2026 seemed like the perfect year to elevate our Joyce Boulevard entrance with the installation of matching stone curved sweeps that will provide a visual landmark, further distinguishing Butterfield from the other buildings that have grown up all around us since we first opened our doors in 1986.

The incredibly skilled custom mason work by Martinez Masonry for this project is exceptional and painstaking, as each stone is cut and fitted perfectly. The finished sweeps will feature raised letters and our signature Butterfield horses and stagecoach, here to guide generations more retirees home. ❤

What a beautiful day it was today to place a wonderful new bench in the Butterfield garden, thanks to a generous gift from resident Sherry Young in honor and memory of her late husband, Jim Young. Sherry's family joined her as BTV staff members placed the bench next to the garden supplies and tool shed — a perfect spot for gardeners to rest from tending their plants. Jim was very special to Butterfield, and we look forward to installing a plaque on the bench to recognize him.

Aging well is dependent on a lot of factors, but a key thing we know we can always offer at Butterfield is an abundance of friendly neighbors. Before this week's Resident Forum, a group of residents performed a heartfelt and fun program on the meaning of friendship. Through quotes and songs and stories, the enthusiastic troupe reminded us all of the power of relationships and why it matters that friendship is at the core of Butterfield's culture. Thanks to all who stepped outside of their comfort zones to stand in front of a smiling, appreciative audience - plus a special thanks to resident Patty Stiles for turning a creative idea into action and adeptly wrangling all the participants needed to bring it to life!

Butterfield Trail Village is in the July issue of CitiScapes Magazine! We know, even without the piles of official research to back it up, that building and nurturing relationships is one of the keys to longevity for senior adults. This article talks about that, and features a great example of finding the connections that help make life so enjoyable — our own "Butterfield Cousins" who found a common link through genealogy. If you haven't lingered in the Raised Beds Garden this summer, you MUST visit soon! 😍 Thanks to a very generous gift from the Butterfield Trail Village Foundation in 2025 and heaps of dedication from residents and grounds staff, the newly installed beds have ushered in fresh energy and stunning blooms that are currently at their height of beauty. The adjacent arbor has newly painted furniture kindly donated by residents, creating a spot perfect for visiting with friends or taking in the quiet flight of nearby butterflies and bumblebees.

🇺🇸 We captured a beautiful Butterfield moment earlier this week, as a few of our gentlemen came together to retire a well-worn flag. There is an art to properly folding a flag, requiring patience, teamwork and precision. Watching these men work in tandem to guide the fabric into its final, neat triangle was a powerful reminder of the traditions that connect us.

Every fold holds a sense of history, and seeing it passed through hands that have lived so much of it made the moment feel extra-special.
