The Young Professionals (aka YPs) is a Christian organization and is composed of individuals from a variety of church denominations that join together with the same goal of developing a personal relationship with Christ and growing and learning about life's important practical and spiritual topics to better understand and engage in the world. Most importantly, we have a bible study based on a pre-
planned topic. Currently, we are engaged in studying material developed by WDA called "Knowing God"
Throughout the evening we let the spirit lead and determine our ultimate agenda. Some nights include testimonies while others include musical worship led by some of our own. We also spend a little time planning social events and outside ministry opportunities. A little history:
The YPs began as a part of a outreach to ages 21-30 by a New Hope Sunday School class, however a little younger or older isn't going to hurt. We are targeting the late college to early career stage of life. Although being grounded in the "mentors" of New Hope, the group is not affiliated with any one church. We are a para-church of sorts with several physical churches being represented from Peachtree City to Atlanta. It began on Thursday nights but soon evolved to Friday's. The group has grown, morphed and changed since the beginning but what has not changed is the desire to reach the Young Professional age group and develop personal mentoring relationships in order to guide them in their walk with Christ.
