🦁🏈 The 33rd Annual Fayetteville Lions Football Jamboree was held Saturday evening at Highland Rim School. After a thoroughly rainy day, our prayers were answered, and the storms passed us by, allowing all 5 great preseason scrimmages to be completed. We were happy that our Jamboree fans found us at Highland Rim and either brought their own lawn chairs or found seating in the new bleachers. We were also happy that so many came hungry and visited our concession stands.

Our Jamboree Chair, Gary Wright, said "Each participating team was given the opportunity to evaluate their players and playbooks under full-padded and TSSAA-refereed game conditions. I know that the coaches appreciate that right before the regular season begins." He also thanked all participants including the teams, coaches, cheerleaders, referees, safety and security personnel, Lions and partners working their assigned duties, and especially the attending family and fans. "This Jamboree raises a lot of money for each participating school and also kicks off the Lions fundraising program that supports our vision and hearing screening, eye exams and glasses for uninsured people in need, youth contests, hunger relief efforts and all the Fayetteville Lions community services throughout the year."

Lion Wright also gave "a big "shoutout" to the leadership and staff of Highland Rim School who stepped up enthusiastically to host this year's Jamboree when weather delays to the resodding of the field at Lincoln County High School forced us to move our venue. They provided us everything we needed to make this year's event a success." 🦁🦁🏈🏈🦁🦁

🦁🦁🦁 Are you ready for some football? 🏈🏈🏈

Don't forget that our 33rd Annual Fayetteville Lions Football Jamboree is this Saturday, August 1st. This year's location is Highland Rim School at 111 Highland Rim Road. Gates will open at 4pm and the 1st game kicks off at 5pm.

Tickets purchased at the schools are $5, with those proceeds staying with the schools. Tickets at the gate are $7. The Lions Club will provide concessions so come hungry for hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza, popcorn, etc.

Highland Rim's new bleachers have been assembled and provide seating for about 600 people. Just in case we have overflow, we recommend bringing a lawn chair.

The schedule for the night is as follows. Each game will last for two quarters. Please note that there will be no freshman game this year.

Our guest speaker Tuesday evening was Bruce Gillford, Elk River Region Area Director of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes FCA . Bruce serves Lincoln, Coffee, Franklin, Grundy, & Moore Counties. FCA's worldwide Vision is to "see the world transformed by Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes." And their Mission is "To lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church."

Bruce shared that FCA provides a space for students to integrate their faith with their athletic experiences, fostering spiritual growth alongside athletic development. While FCA has a specific statement of faith, it welcomes all students to participate in its activities whether they play a sport or not. One of the ways they accomplish this is by organizing what they call "huddles" which often are regular before-school group meetings. The primary goal of an FCA Huddle is to provide a space for huddle coaches and athletes to connect with each other and with God, fostering spiritual growth and discipleship. Huddles typically involve Bible study, prayer, and sharing, but can also include games and activities to build friendships with other students.

Our meeting also included final coordination for our annual Football Jamboree which takes place on Saturday evening, August 1st with the first game beginning at 5 pm. This year the location is Highland Rim School due to the turf replacement project still ongoing at Lincoln County High.

🦁 🍎 ✏️ The Fayetteville Lions July recipient of school supplies was Riverside Christian Academy . We contacted them and asked "What do you need right now that the Lions can order for you from Staples.com and OfficeDepot.com with our $60 rewards credit? The office staff was happy to receive some office supplies that will help them get ready for the resumption of classes in just a few weeks!

♻ A big "Thank You" to all who recycled their used print cartridges with us! Through recycling, the Lions transform what was trash filling up the landfill, into school supplies and into money to fund our vision programs! Please remember to recycle your used printer cartridges and cell/smart phones with the Fayetteville Lions. You can drop them in one of our Yellow "Mailboxes" at the F/LC Recycle Center, F/LC Senior Center or Holt's IGA in Park City...or in a smaller box in Carter's Drug Store or the County Mayor's Office in the Courthouse.

Ten Fayetteville Lions gathered early Saturday morning to do our quarterly Adopt-A-Highway litter cleanup along our adopted stretch of Wi******er Highway. We managed to beat the heat, collect a lot of highway litter, and have fun too. Go "Team Trash"!

This year the Fayetteville Lions Football Jamboree will be held at HIGHLAND RIM SCHOOL on Saturday evening, August 1st. The 1st game kicks off at 5 pm.

Fayetteville Lions Club 32nd Football Jamboree

Due to ongoing field renovations at Meadows Thompson Stadium, the 2026 Lions Club Football Jamboree will be held at Highland Rim School.

Kickoff is scheduled for August 1 at 5 p.m. Tickets purchased at the schools are $5, with those proceeds staying with the schools. Tickets at the gate are $7. The Lions Club will provide concessions. Due to limited seating, bringing a lawn chair is recommended.
